Let it be known from the start that this tale is not one for the fainthearted. It is a tale of the dangerous allure of fragility and youth. Of virginal innocence being lost to dark, sinister forces. Innocent curiosity and youthful exuberance was what Mother had warned against! The end is not a happy one and this must be declared at the outset. Take your place as the audience to this tragic massacre…or walk away.
Our story begins with the death of young April. April…where does one begin to describe April! She was the irresistible combination of innocence and adolescent sensuality. The little girl in her wanted to play with her ribbons all day long, but a little voice inside her egged her on to take just one little peek into the Forbidden Woods behind the House. Mother had warned her about the Big Bad Wolf that lived in those woods. And April was a good girl! She always listened to Mother! But on that spring day, there was something in the delicious, golden light that emboldened little April. She could no longer contain her curiosity..Monday, April 4
The golden light faded and April was nowhere to be found! Why had she not come home yet? Mother would be very angry! Where had that silly little girl disappeared? Did she not know that little girls must not play outside after Dark?!
The next morning they found little April. Lying on a deserted bench, her ribbons in tact but one shoe missing!Had that careless child fallen asleep on the bench again? And there she lay, little April, her eyes carrying a secret no one would ever know, still clutching onto her precious ribbons...

Model: Shrea
Stylist: Your's truely
Dress:Thrifted
Note: This post was inspired by Sofia Coppola's 'The Virgin Suicides' with a hint of Lolita and Red Riding Hood! The dress, with its tulle, lace and ballerina-esque vibe... the pretty afternoon light, all seemed extremely suggestive to me.It was too pretty to be entirely innocent! But the story does not end here. More innocent lives will be claimed by this deceptively beautiful light!

Aranya (aka Oona) and I had been meaning to do a post together for a while. We both admired each other's 'style' from a distance and developed a sort of 'fashion-friendship'. I was both surprised and flattered when Aranya came up to me and said she wanted to do a shoot featuring me! I probably make the world's most random model.I have miles to go before I'm anywhere NEAR the same planet as blog-muse, Anna Dello Russo...but here I am! Trying to look fierce and cool and all that jazz.

The Louis Vuitton Auto
I was kicking myself for not carrying a camera. Y'know, like a cool blogger, ever-ready to capture a great fashion moment. This was probably better than a pretty, well-dressed girl and I DID NOT HAVE A CAMERA ON ME! So here I was, with my friend Kavya, super stressed and super late for a placement test. At the opportune moment, every auto in Delhi decides that they just do not want to go to Okhla..or where ever it is that the damn test was happening. I was on the verge of breaking into i-give-up tears when this PIMP-ED OUT auto pulls up.That auto made my day. It made my life worth living!
I hopped in with K, my mind preoccupied with test-stress when..Stop! I had to look again to believe it. The entire upholstery of the noisy lil auto was done in (fake, of course) 'Louis Vuitton' leather. The LV logo, adequately morphed to establish its fake-ness, was ALL OVER. Forget the silly interview, I just saw something that would give all the kitsch-queens a run for their money- a Louis Vuitton auto! Don't you just wish I had a camera (or the brains to use my phone)? Yes, at the best of times, my brains are at my knees!

Dior: Ciao! Galliano
So its out. The beautiful magician is a foul-mouthed, racist drunk.I've just seen the video post The Sun put up which has caught the designer in the act. Galliano is clearly off his face drunk and sounds like a petulant child, saying horrible things for some attention (calling someone 'ugly'..you sound like a stupid high school bitch G). He is clearly a disturbed person and perhaps time off from the glitzy world of fashion will do him some good.
The Sartorialist made an interesting point- Dior probably knew more than they were letting on when they dismissed him. I just hope he gets the helps he clearly seems to be shouting out for.I really hope this does not sound the death knell on his career. We do love his frothy, fabulous dresses. But the idea that these exquisite pieces of couture are coming from someone who really wants to dress the world in striped pajamas, is scary an repulsive.
It'll be interesting to see who takes Galliano's place at Dior... all this drama bang in the middle of the fashion week season! More importantly..CAN anyone do what Galliano did for Dior..it has been a long relationship and one filled with drama, i'm sure. The end of any long association brings with it some serious upheavals and it'll be interesting to see what Dior does with this opportunity for change.
